I Gesuiti: La Compagnia di Gesu'.
Questa e' la University Of Detroit Mercy, una delle loro 28 universita' qui negli Stati Uniti, (compresa la Georgetown, tra le piu' prestigiose al Mondo).
Fu' un gesuita francese, nel 1679, a porre il primo insediamento qui a Detroit : lo chiamo' "riviere du detroit", fiume sullo stretto.
Lo stesso esploratore missionario (Louis Hennepin) fu' anche il primo, pochi anni prima (1683) a "scoprire" (o meglio a classificare e riportare, visto che ci viveno gia' gli irochesi, una tribu' indiana) le cascate Del Niagara.
